Russell Brand: a minutes silence is bullsh*t
Used to like this bloke but he reckons the Tunisia attack was the fault of the West. Really?

Would there be any legal issues if, in the far future, if we decide to demolish and build a new stadium on same site with retractable seating? Could that even happen?

I think Brand is a cunt but I think people have jumped to the wrong conclusion about all this.

He's having a pop at our government, not the victims.

Still a cunt though.

No, what i'm suggesting is, that the situation might be improved, by the elimination of nationalism and religion and their inherent insularity

I don't give a monkey's what Brand thinks, but what gives me the hump is that just because he's quite famous he thinks it gives him the right to mouth off on every subject under the sun. He seems to think he has the answer to every problem going. Talk about delusional.

But it's the complete lack of respect he shows toward the victims of yet more Islamic, indiscriminate slaughter that does piss me off. In my book he's become a very tedious bore.
Thankfully all his ranting will only have an adverse effect on his career.

This is a big red herring. Russel Brand is an entertainer, not a politician.

So what your saying is we should all become Muslims or people deserve to die.

Re: Russell Brand: a minutes silence is bullsh*t
Ok, lets say hypothetically that we'd like a world were people got killed, sick, tortured and mutilated less often. This is out of self interest, if nothing else, since, if these things are less prevalent generally, then the chances of you becoming the victim of one of them, are reduced also.

Mr Brand is making a point, a quite rational one actually, which is that, whilst humans continue to differentiate between us and them, by virtue of religion\\nationality and, seek to serve the interests of that identity by force, then this will likely engender retaliation and, to add greater significance to the violent deaths of innocent citizens of one group, to those of another, only serves to perpetuate this.

Unfortunately most people are still not in a position to consider the erosion of national and religious identity as an option and perhaps therefore it would be wiser to be a little more circumspect, although persistent, in our approach to presenting this as a possibility.

We act as though oil isn't important - it props up the entire economy. We should be looking to wean ourselves off of as much as we can, but without it, or if it is priced too high, then we are fucked.

Still you have to respect Brand for the part he played in the downfall of Labour and the hand he gave the his hated Tory party.....

Sturgeon and Brand would make a lovely couple

Tak - if Russell Brand was to socialise with a significant number of 'the people' outside his cozy, Guardianista Groupthink bubble, he would be appalled by how "ghastly dahling" 'the people' really are. 'The people' can't be relied upon to form the correct opinions.

Wrighty - the fact is that the UK supply arms to 23 of the 26 countries that we deem to be a threat to us or to their own populations - mostly in the middle east. Good idea to carry on selling them arms? That is all brand was saying.

Ask yourself why we need cheap oil so badly?
Are british lives worth it?

Let's get the fck out. And have UK policies that allow any cunt to leave with no right to return if they want to join IS.

Win win.

Re: Russell Brand: a minutes silence is bullsh*t
Correct re tit for tat..for eg, Why do IS use orange boiler suits as the dress code for the victims to whom they show no mercy? Seen those boiler suits anywhere else?

We are dealing with an evil cult who know what buttons to press.

Get the fck out of these shitholes and protect our own borders.

Lets be honest, there's a massive problem with Muslims not only in the world as a whole but more important here and the authorities are too scared to deal with it because they scream racism.

IF Muslims want Sharia Law then there is a simple solution isn't there?

Every rocket fired at us came from China or Iran. You can blame Cameron all you want as the left want to believe the UK are at fault.

Re: Russell Brand: a minutes silence is bullsh*t
Correct, there is no justification by whoever does it on either side. So it is interesting that people are consciously oblivious to the murders carried out on our behalf in foreign lands. Or at best justifying them as proportionate response.

What should not be denied is that in this tit for tat world it is these very actions which continue to fuel fundamentalism. If you want reprisals don't complain that it continues to escalate.
